Phase One of the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project was completed on December 1, 2012 and included the completion of major improvements east of the bridge to Langley. Additional eastbound and westbound highway lanes have been added from the Port Mann Bridge to 202 Street in Langley, including one HOV lane in each direction.

Improved interchanges are also now open to drivers at the following locations:

  • 152 Street
  • Transit/HOV ramps at 156 Street
  • 160 Street
  • 176 Street

With these improvements complete, drivers travelling between Langley and Vancouver have already eliminated 35 minutes from their overall trip. Drivers travelling between Surrey and Vancouver have also reduced their commute time by nearly 60 per cent.
